OUTDOOR & CAMP SKILLS COURSE
(formerly known as “Camp Certificate Course”)

When: November 10th – 12th, 2000
Where: Ganaraska Forest Centre
Cost: $45.00 per participant

What’s Required: A completed Training Application, Physical Fitness Certificate (attached), along with a cheque made payable to: “Scouts Canada - Whitby District” due no later than OCTOBER 23, 2000

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that a mail out information package is necessary for all participants and should be received by them on a timely basis, therefore it is important to adhere to October 23rd deadline. Thank You

Course Objective: To acquire a better knowledge on utilizing the outdoors and camps with the youth in your section.

Course Outline: Meal preparation & menu planning; sanitation; equipment – stoves, lanterns, tents, sleeping bags; personal gear; clothing; backpacks; knives/axes; hiking; contingency/emergency plans; how to build a campfire; National Camping/Outdoor Activity Guide … and more.

Times: Arrival on Friday night – 7:30 p.m, Departure on Sunday – approximately 3:00 p.m.

NOTE: A MINIMUM OF 25 PARTICIPANTS IS REQUIRED TO RUN THIS COURSE!!!
