Kub Kars Come to a ConclusionDistrict finals were held Saturday at Iroquois Park Arena where winners from the District event were presented with trophies. The top winners are slated to compete in the April 21 regional competition at Heydenshore Pavilion at the Whitby lakeshore. Food Drive Totals Now DuePLEASE weigh how much you collect so we can report this to the regional co-ordinator. Pass your totals onto Karen Granville . Scouts Canada - Structural Re-organizationVertical servicing will be in full implementation across the country as Scouts Canada converts districts into areas and re-structures the Region. The new model transfers full responsibility and accountability of Scouting programs to the paid staff and commissioners (appointments by Scouts Canada.) By doing this, the corporation hopes to clarify lines of authority, improve communication to the members, reduce liability and most importantly free up adult volunteers to work with the youth! Scoutrees Site SelectedTrees this spring will be planted in the area of the Cranberry Marsh - Lynde Shores Conservation Area between Victoria Street West and Lake Ontario. More details should be available at the next District Council meeting on March 28th. Take Your Scouts Out for the NightThe Putting Edge Glow-in-the-Dark Mini-Golf in Whitby offers a great deal for Scout/Guide groups. The cost is $5.00 per person. It is a great way to have a fun evening. For more information contact Trent Price at . Adult Volunteer Development (previously Wood Badge)The course for Beaver, Cub & Scout leaders has been re-engineered to help facilitate delivery of the modules in easy-to-build sessions, to be held over a period of time. The idea is that you will be able to achieve the wood badge while continuing "on-the-job-training". So far there is no time limit on how long it takes to complete the modules. The first modular session will take place in April. Contact Trish Lewis, ADC Training for details. If that isn't the best time for you, contact Trish who can direct to many other courses held in the area. Email Trish at or check out the schedule on the website: http://www.whitbyscouts.org/training.html. Cubs Off to Fort York for Taste of HistoryThe volunteer team has big plans for the Cubs as they venture off to Old Fort York, Toronto for the weekend of May 24 to 26. More information will be coming our soon to the Cub section leaders from Scouter Dick Kauling. For an interim update, contact Dick at .
